It is a foundation for providing cost-free or minimal-cost music education to students of extraordinary caliber. It also supports musicians in producing their work and popularizing the music that they create. The institute has trained about 900 students in Hindustani vocals, and instrumental as well as in popular classical dance forms like Kathak and Bharatnatyam. It offers varied Music Appreciation courses for children, adults, and youth. It has 20 branches all over Mumbai.
